Introduction

South Asia as a distinct geographic and social entity received its first formal recognition with the inauguration of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC) in 1985. This event was the culmination of at least preceding five years of intense debate and preparations at the state and inter-state levels and in some segments of "South Asian Civil Society". The region is however a long way from being perceived as a coherent cooperative of states determined to work together for economic well-being and social security of more than one billion people, the majority of whom are currently acknowledged as among the least fortunate. more>>


Organizational Management  

NESAC engage itself in mainly two core issues—democracy and development. To meet its goals, NESAC has actively involved in research activities, national campaigns, national and international dialogues. NESAC is transparent and democratic NGO in Nepal. The decision making process and organizational management and election of leadership in regular and periodical basis are carried out democratically; according to the provision of the constitution of NESAC. The TDS (Tax Deduction at Sources) is another key characteristic feature of NESAC. This shows the NESAC’s commitment on democratic norms and values, transparency and accountability in true spirits both in theory and practice. Read more>>
